New markets in our members' interests07 December 2017
The Turkish economy is steadily growing. That harbours opportunities, which is why Turkish and Dutch market parties are talking about setting up new production regions in Turkey. Given that outlook, Royal FloraHolland organised a study trip to Turkey from 20 to 24 November 2017. Seven growers went along.
"Turkey is a market undergoing development: it's progressing by leaps and bounds. To accelerate this development, a wide assortment is required. It is good that Royal FloraHolland is taking the lead on behalf of business in the Netherlands," stated Coen Verspeek from Wooning Orchids, one of the participants on the study trip.
Participant Louis Bakker from Mondo Verde agreed with Coen. "It is in the members' interests that Royal FloraHolland develops new markets and is the first one there. If Royal FloraHolland did not do this, someone else would. In addition, the West European market is getting full: expanding the market is good for everyone."
New purchasing power
The study trip is one of the various activities that the Turkey/Eurasia team is organising to strengthen the links between Royal FloraHolland and Turkish market parties. Its aim: bind the new purchasing power to the Royal FloraHolland ecosystem. That is part of the commercial strategy.
