IT partnerships strengthen the digital marketplace23 November 2017
Digitalisation of the service provision is desperately needed. It will make the trade in the horticultural sector more accessible and simpler. To strengthen our position, we have been working since June 2017 together with FloraXchange, and we launched our creation, Floriday, during the Trade Fair 2017. These developments do not occur in isolation: partnerships are part of our IT-strategy.
For our customers and growers we want to focus fully on realising the digital marketplace, including Floriday. And on efficient logistic systems which will allow us in the future to deliver the growers' products faster to customers.
In the past year, we have formed strategic partnerships with OGD and Conclusion. These companies have taken over the parts of our IT in which they specialise. For example, they deal with the management of workplaces and the auction systems for our growers and customers.
These partnerships insure us of input from the latest IT-technologies and methods. We also retain the knowledge and experience of our employees as they continue working for us through these partners. This relieves us of quite a workload in the management and updating of our IT.
Nomination for TOMMIE Award
The way in which we collaborate with external parties within IT has not gone unnoticed. Yesterday it was announced that Royal FloraHolland has been nominated for a TOMMIE Award for the Most Successful Company in Sourcing 2017.
