New: Storecheck reveals customer's journey27 September 2016
From January 2017 we are expanding the Storecheck service with a handy trick. It will become possible to track the consumer's route when purchasing a product (the so-called customer journey).
With the updated Storecheck app, consumers can tell us their opinion about whether or not to buy a specific product. They explain how they will use the product at home, how long they expect to be able to enjoy the product, and which colour or variety they prefer.
Via Storecheck, consumers can also add images of the product in the displays. This will give us more insight into what consumers are thinking and what causes them to buy flowers and/or plants. What leads consumers to come back to buy again and what prevents them from doing so?
This information is extremely valuable for retailers in particular, but also for producers and suppliers of flowers and plants. Experience has shown that our growers and buyers start talking to retailers with more knowledge, leading to a win-win situation for both. Because ultimately we all want more flowers and plants to be sold.
Finding market opportunities and preventing claims
Storecheck can also help to identify market opportunities, as one grower explained. "I have been delivering plants for years to the same markets. Thanks to Storecheck, I found out that there were other countries wanting my products and that were open to changing their assortment."
There are also reports about the use of Storecheck to counter
claims. "My products were apparently too green when supplied,
although I know for certain that this was not the case. Normally,
it is my word against that of the client, now I use Storecheck to
collect 'real-time' images originating from the consumers
themselves. This gives an impartial view of the state of the
products when they are delivered into the shop," said the
And growers looking for the right advice in terms of mixtures of varieties or colours in the assortment can be helped with Storecheck. "I can adjust the colour mix for each country based on the consumers' reactions."
Consumers tell you more about your product and sales
Storecheck has been around now for 5 years and is a very
successful service. Not only do the product teams of the Commerce
Department of Royal FloraHolland make use of it, growers and buyers
of Royal FloraHolland employ it to augment their trade.
Currently, several tens of thousands of consumers are walking around in the Netherlands, the UK, France, Germany, Sweden, Italy, Spain, Poland, Belgium and Turkey with a Storecheck app on their smartphone. They visit supermarkets, florists, garden centres and DIY stores to check out the flowers and plants present.
