Do you exchange packaging directly? Use the correct packaging code!10 May 2016
In the direct trade, Royal FloraHolland flower buckets are exchanged with great regularity between the parties. We call this direct exchange ‘subturns’.
The reuse of multi-use auction packaging is permitted as long as you meet certain conditions. For example, you have to enter the correct subturn code on the EDF.
What is 'subturn'?
In the direct trade of cut flowers, suppliers and customers exchange packaging without going through the auction or packaging depot of Royal FloraHolland. This direct exchange is called subturn. It concerns:
- Multi-use boxes
- Support racks
Use the correct subturn packaging code
Just like with the regular packaging circulation, you pay a fee per circulation of subturns. This fee is a modified version of the standard packaging rate as Royal FloraHolland incurs a lower cost for subturns. By entering the correct subturn code on your delivery form, you will be charged the correct fee directly. As it is assumed that subturns involve an equal exchange of packaging (1 for 1), no deposit is added!
Checks and enforcement
Royal FloraHolland checks the use of the correct packaging codes carefully, even of single-use packaging. Where necessary, users will be approached to discuss correct usage. The checks and enforcement of the correct use of packaging codes remain in force.
