Correct information on EDF benefits entire sector17 March 2016
Are the units in the EDF incorrect? Or is the number of blue deposit trays wrong? Starting on March 17 Royal FloraHolland will be charging a levy for these common errors. We want to ensure good quality at the clock as that benefits the entire sector. And correct information is an essential component of that plan.
Royal FloraHolland does all it can to prevent internal errors. Buyers must be able to make purchases without experiencing problems. But we are dependent on the information provided by our suppliers. We auction according to what our suppliers state on their Electronic Delivery Form (EDF).
All too often the information on the EDFs is incorrect. As a result, buyers do not get what they expected given the information available at the clock. This creates an unpleasant situation, especially when our buyers in turn must disappoint their own customers. In addition, rectifying errors costs time and money. Everyone contributes to paying those costs.
Levy starting March 17
From March 17 suppliers who enter an incorrect number of units or of the blue deposit trays will automatically be charged a levy of €16.35 per error. The levy will appear on the Services Invoice with the description "logistics correction costs" and the date.
This means that from now on only the suppliers in question will pay the correction costs. This is fair because suppliers who do not make mistakes will no longer be contributing to paying for them. And it may help suppliers to be more careful when providing information. That is our ultimate goal after all. The clock must be a reliable supplier for our buyers.
