At Royal FloraHolland, we work hard every day to improve our logistical services. We are structurally strengthening the logistics processes at all locations in order to shorten lead times and expected end times for you. Over the past period, we have adapted our logistics processes to comply with RIVM guidelines.
In particular, the guideline to keep a distance of 1.5 metres from each other required far-reaching changes to our logistics processes.
What measures have we taken?
- At all locations one or more so-called parallel (copies of) distribution processes have been set up the size of a number of football fields in order to be able to process sufficient transactions per hour. IT has also been adapted to this.
- In addition, employees have been instructed on the new RIVM guidelines, (distribution) routes have been modified and in some instances one-way traffic has been set up.
- The opening hours of our marketplace have been normalised and harmonised across the three export locations where possible.
In order to be able to cope with the hustle and bustle in the
run-up to the top days and to spread the pressure on our logistics
process, this year's auction was also held on King's Day
(Koningsdag) on the advice of growers and buyers. We are also
preparing for the first two Early Auction Days of this year; Monday
25th May 2020 and Tuesday 2nd June 2020.
