‘Help your customer: state the number of stems in a bunch!’14 September 2018
Your customer would like to know how many stems there are in a bunch of cut flowers. That is why VBN has decided to make this information mandatory from 1 January 2019 for all cut flowers.
You will be helping your customer to purchase the right number of stems.
Why is this important?
Your customers consider this information important because:
- It can prevent mistakes in their logistics process
- The cut flowers are easier to sell via their webshop
What consequences does this have?
Stating this information ensures that your customers save money. For you, it can lead to a better price-setting, and ultimately more revenue.
What does it mean for you?
From 1 January 2019 you must state in position 5 on the Electronic Delivery Form (EDF) how many stems a bunch of cut flowers has (quality code L11). This quality code is becoming mandatory for all cut flowers. Only once all suppliers start giving this quality code can your customers adjust their process to match.
What if I bundle my bunches?
In that case, add L12 (amount of bunches per bundle) as extra characteristic. This characteristic is not mandatory, but as with L11, it is of great added value to your customers.
As a grower, you have received more information from VBN and Royal FloraHolland by email. Do you have any questions? Please contact Customer Service. If you have any questions regarding your EAB software, please contact your software supplier.
