Together towards a sustainable future: come to the meeting02 November 2017
International market parties and interest groups are working together on a healthy, vital and sustainable horticultural sector. The Floriculture Sustainability Initiative (FSI) has set the aim of having 90% of all flowers and plants being traded and produced sustainably by members by 2020. How can growers, dealers or suppliers achieve this goal? Come to one of our meetings to find out.
Sustainability is becoming an increasingly important market requirement. More and more retailers are asking for a GAP-certificate, to be sure that the supplier meets the legal requirements. That is why the Dutch Flower Group, FleuraMetz, Royal FloraHolland, Royal Lemkes and Waterdrinker are organising the 'Together to a sustainable future' workshop. Together we can take action to continue improving the sustainability of our horticultural products.
Come to the 'Together to a sustainable future' workshop at the Trade Fair
The workshops are being held on 8 and 9 November 2017 during the Trade Fair in Aalsmeer (location ECA 140.55) and cover:
- what sustainability means for our sector
- what the market demands or requires of us
- what an efficient step towards GAP looks like
- what the role of FSI is in this
You are warmly invited to attend, and we look forward to seeing you at one of our meetings. It is not necessary to register in advance.
Workshop: innovation & sustainable entrepreneurship in the horticultural sector
On 17 November 2017 the Aalsmeer local authority is celebrating the Day of the Entrepreneur with interesting workshops and sessions. One of the sessions focusses on entrepreneurs from the horticultural sector: Jeroen Oudheusden, executive officer of FSI, will talk about sustainable entrepreneurship as it follows on from the ideas encoded in FSI2020.
