Members' session 5: impact on small and medium clock grower too high11 October 2017
Session 5 of Cooperative 2020 was held in September 2017. In this session, the MT presented a model for a new membership & rate structure based on the input from the previous members' sessions.
During this session the coherence between a new model for the membership and rate structure and the RFH growth strategy was also discussed. The members attending the sessions recognised the importance of growth for keeping the marketplace going and for good price-setting, but also clarified that growth is not an end in itself.
Membership and rate model
During the sessions members affirmed that they agreed with the outline of the membership and rate model. At the same time, they felt that the value of the membership must be clear. For example, the difference between member suppliers and suppliers must be more evident, certainly in terms of the capital contribution. In addition, the impact for small and medium clock growers in the presented model was considered too high by many members.
The MT will include all of the input from the members when elaborating the definitive proposal. This proposal will be discussed with you during the regional meetings planned for November 2017.
