Image auctioning of plants starts on October 4 in Aalsmeer and Naaldwijk06 July 2017
We are evolving into a world where digital is standard and Remote Buying normal. That applies also to the plant clocks in Aalsmeer and Naaldwijk. This year we are taking the next important step towards national virtual clocks: we are introducing image auctioning of plants from October 4 2017.
We are consciously choosing to move directly from physical auctioning to image auctioning without intermediate phases because image auctioning is a precondition for the implementation of national virtual clocks. The plans for image auctioning have been discussed extensively with buyers and suppliers in the various consultative bodies. Royal FloraHolland is carrying out its task to fulfil the preconditions for this step, and expects its chain partners to do the same.
Supply information and product photos
All buyers use the supply information and product photos to decide what to purchase through image auctioning. They no longer see trolleys physically parading in front of the clock and have to trust the information and the photo that you send in. It is still possible for buyers to view the products as before. Buyers also like to use the current and reliable photos in their webshop. That is why it is essential to have up-to-date photos that reliably represent your product. This also makes your product more attractive for an increasingly expanding market.
Reliability has to improve
According to buyers the photos of a number of growers are not recent and reliable enough. We are happy to help you here. Correct product information and grading characteristics improve your market opportunities. We are currently working on improving reliability in the future quality policy. A global digital marketplace is its starting point. This suits Royal FloraHolland's aim to become the world's largest digital platform for flowers and plants.
