Innovative entrepreneur in horticulture? Compete for the Horticultural Entrepreneur's Prize!03 July 2017
The Horticultural Entrepreneur's Prize is awarded annually to top entrepreneurs who work in an innovative and sustainable way and are a model for innovation in the horticultural sector. Entrepreneurs can register or be nominated for this prestigious prize until the deadline of 15 September 2017.
The Horticultural Entrepreneur's Prize is not concerned with scale. Instead, it is the expertise of the entrepreneur that counts, such as audacity, perseverance and a vision of sustainable business. The winner does that little bit more in, for example, product innovation, sustainable development, collaboration, work or marketing.
JUB Holland, winner in 2017
In January, the bulb-growing company JUB Holland from Noordwijkerhout won the Horticultural Entrepreneur's Prize 2017 for its special types of collaboration and the initiatives it is undertaking to make the bulb sector more sustainable. Jaap-Jan Uittenbogaard exclaimed, "The reactions after winning the Horticultural Entrepreneur's Prize were overwhelming; we received congratulations from every quarter. We realised that we had been given recognition by the sector. The status of ambassador associated with the prize will expand our network and lead to positive developments."
From among the many applicants, four entrepreneurs are nominated. At the end of October the organisation will be announcing their names. At a festive New Year's meeting on 10 January 2018, the winner will be awarded the Horticultural Entrepreneur's Prize 2018.
